Small businesses are always on our minds, but especially so this month. November 26 is recognized as Small Business Saturday, so we encourage everyone to shop locally in person and patronize small businesses everywhere via the internet.

To further show our support, we offer five tips for helping your small brand with its social media presence.

  1. Share Your Brand Story

This makes you stand out from all the other brands and businesses around you. No one else can be you, and no one has the same story. How did you get here? Why are you in business? What are you hoping to achieve? Figure out what is compelling about your why and share it. By sharing the story behind your brand, you are allowing yourself to connect with your audience.

  1. Schedule Your Content

You are running a small business with an endless list of tasks. You are not guaranteed to have time every day to craft and publish a post. It’s just not practical. This is why scheduling content is such a game-changer. Use one day a week to schedule future content, so you do not have to worry about it daily.

  1. Use Free Social Media Tools

You are already on the right because you’re reading this. Blogs and articles on the internet are great resources for learning more about social media. You can also find tools such as analytics, photo apps, scheduling apps, and more.

  1. Lean on Your Circle

Sometimes you need a little extra boost on a social media post. Family and friends can like, comment on, and share your content on their pages, allowing organic growth.

  1. Test Out Videos

Videos are producing much more engagement currently than static posts. TikTok, reels, stories, and lives are just a few ways to bring videos into your content. And they don’t require the editing that platforms like YouTube might demand.

Building a brand on social media takes time. Do not feel discouraged if things don’t seem to be happening overnight. You are doing great as long as you stay consistent and build engagement!
